when I grew up...

...I wanted to be a Solid Gold Dancer.  Do you remember that TV show, "Solid Gold", with the sexy dancers in spandex?

I think this photo was from my dad's birthday party.  Clearly, the 80's.  Look at the pink flamingo, the "Your Name Here" font on the t-shirt, and there were obviously birthday balloons happening.  Because I was no Dolly Parton in 3rd grade.

Anyway, I recently discovered a website called Awkward Family Photos and I have been happily losing whole hours of my life cruising around it this summer.  It is an entire site (and book) devoted to photos like this one, with captions that make me laugh out loud.
