nuno felting

I started making scarves using the process of nuno felting. This involves taking fine merino wool roving and applying it to dyed silk habotai or silk chiffon.

When the wool begins to "felt" it will bind to (and through) the silk and becomes one piece of fabric. Different effects can be achieved by how and where the wool is placed. Other fibers can be felted into the silk as well, like dyed silk or novelty yarns.

Here are the latest, available soon at the etsy shop. If you are local and would like a custom order or home delivery, just shoot me an email.
